4. Not a government service

PassportAlert is an independent third-party tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to His Majesty's Passport Office (HMPO), HM Passport Office, or the UK Government in any way. All appointment data is gathered from publicly available sources.

For official passport services, visit GOV.UK.

5. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account and use the App. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.

7. Free and paid features

Free tier

All users can view the availability dashboard and check current appointment slot availability at no cost.

Unlocked tier

For a one-time payment of £7.99, you can unlock all notification features including push notifications, email alerts, office and date filtering, notification history, and quiet hours.

Refunds and consumer rights

Refund requests are handled by the respective app store (Google Play or Apple App Store) in accordance with their refund policies. We do not process refunds directly.

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of purchase. However, by using the App's paid features immediately after purchase, you acknowledge that the service begins straight away and you consent to losing your right of withdrawal once the digital content has been fully provided.

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory consumer rights.

You agree not to:

9. Availability and accuracy

No guarantee of availability: The App depends on external data sources that may change, become unavailable, or be rate-limited at any time. We do not guarantee that the App will be available 24/7 or that notifications will always be delivered. The passport appointment booking website may change its structure, introduce access restrictions, or become temporarily unavailable, any of which may interrupt the App's ability to detect slots.

No guarantee of accuracy: Appointment data is gathered from publicly available sources and may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. Always verify availability on the official GOV.UK website before making travel arrangements.

No guarantee of booking: Receiving a notification does not mean a slot is reserved for you. Appointment slots can be booked by other users at any time, including between the moment we detect a slot and the moment you attempt to book. We do not reserve, hold, or have any control over appointment slot availability.

Notification delivery: Push notifications and email are delivered on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee that you will receive a notification for every available slot. Delivery depends on your device settings, network connectivity, and third-party service providers (Apple Push Notification Service, Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, Resend). Notification delivery may be subject to delays due to network conditions, device power management, or provider outages. We are not liable for missed or delayed notifications.

No responsibility for missed opportunities: We accept no responsibility for appointments you were unable to book due to notification delays, inaccurate data, service downtime, or slots being taken by other users.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

11. Intellectual property

The App, its design, code, and branding are owned by Scalar Studio. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.

12. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your data.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the App or email. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
